My passion for birth started with my own experience. Before I had my daughter, I was a paralegal and I thought that was what I would do forever. Giving birth opened my eyes to the reality of our birth culture and to say I was shocked would be an understatement. The fear tactics that are often used DID scare me, but they also saddened me. I noticed that there was a real need for supportive care with access to evidence based information. I am currently enrolled in the MMA Basic Midwifery Course and completed the toLabor Doula Training program this year. I am comfortable attending births at home, at the hospital or in a birth center.
When I'm not doing birth work, I love recycling old clothing into new items, going to concerts, reading and spending time with my daughter, husband and dog.
